Monopsony:
A market with only one buyer (single customer). An unregulated monopolist will undersupply a product (to increase the price), halting production where marginal revenue equals marginal cost. Similarly, a monopsonist will purchase less of a product to decrease the price it has to pay, to where its marginal expenditure just equals the marginal benefit from an additional unit of the good or service.
