Loss (energy, water, and commercial losses):
Energy (kilowatt-hours) and power (kilowatts) lost or unaccounted for in the operation of an electric system; primarily attributable to energy transformations from kilowatt-hours to waste heat in electric conductors and apparatus (line losses). Water losses are often from leakages in a system. Commercial losses encompass service theft: taking service without making payments to the service provider.
