Current ratio:
A ratio generated by dividing current assets by current liabilities. To be a good index of financial strength, all of a firm's current assets must be able to be converted into cash immediately to meet all current liabilities. The current ratio is a general test of a firm's ability to meet its short-term financial commitments.
