Allocative efficiency:
A situation where production is at least cost (production efficiency) and price equals marginal cost. As a consequence, marginal benefits to consumers who purchase the product are equal to the opportunity cost of supplying it. The resulting mix of products and levels of production yield maximum benefits, given the production technology, available inputs, and consumer preferences and incomes.
